Photobooth Event Today at Market Market

At the moment, we are servicing a client in Market Market mall in Taguig, Philippines.
It is a 7th birthday for a twins celebration. This is our first time to provide a photobooth service in the said mall. Good thing that there was no traffic and we arrived early. Enough time to set up and relax a bit.
Our team composed of three old friends. :)
We are elementary friend and nice that I have the opportunity to discuss Steemit to them in person. One already signed up and another one will going to sign up. I will introduce them to the community later and will create a post about that. :)
Below are some photos of our at the moment photobooth set up.

Introducing Steemit to Others: Get Ready for Questions

I have written a post about an event I attended last time and how I was able to at least have a chance to introduce Steemit to some of the attendees there. PayPal Freelancer Community Summit Held at Manila Peninsula Hotel, Philippines

Since attendees were freelancers, the first question asked to me was what site I am currently working with and/or what is my work online. I briefly mentioned about being a reviewer, encoder etc and then mentioned Steemit. It was my first time to share Steemit to somebody else as I wanted to share this site first to my friends personally but have not have the chance yet to meet them in person. It is because I believe that it will be easier for them to understand the site with a personal approach.
So, I first mentioned Steemit to some of my fellow freelancers in the event that I met for the first time and they were excited to know more about it. They are open for opportunities and it was not that hard to introduce a site to them because they have experiences already on various online earning sites.
As expected, they have various questions about Steemit and below are some of those with my answers based on what I have learned so far from this site for being a member for 2 months. I hope I was able to have a review before this question and answer portion. :D

Question: What is Steemit?
Answer: Steemit is a writing/blogging site which you can also earn from it.

Question: What niches/topics we can write on Steemit?
Answer: Literally, anything under the sun. You can write about your passion or about the topics that you are really familiar with.

Question: How those blogs/writings earn on Steemit?
Answer: Earnings will depends on the votes/upvotes your article will get. Example, when you post on Facebook there will be likes on it but you will not earn anything from it. In Steemit, those likes are called upvotes and it has monetary value.

Question: How can we withdraw our earnings in Steemit?
Answer: You will need to have a Bitcoin account cause earnings in Steemit is in the form of Steem dollar in which you will need to convert before you can receive it to your bank accounts or preferred mode of payment. (This one I think is the hardest to explain especially for those who are not even familiar with cryptocurrencies or even Bitcoin. So, I gave them some brief explanation about it and I hope I was able to explained that well to them.)

Question: Where does Steemit got its earnings? Or how Steemit was able to pay its members?
Answer: There are site/Steem investors and there is what was called reward pool. The rewards is distributed depends on the earnings on your articles and/or the amount of your Steem power. (I hope I am correct with this one. Feel free to answer this in the comment below, thanks. :))

... and so, they asked about Steem power and I answered that it will define the weight or value of your vote. Some have a voting power value of just 0.01 while others even have more than a hundred and those are called whales. So, they asked about whales...

You should really be ready in answering questions like these when introducing Steemit to others. :D
I was able to convince them to write on my notebook their names, email addresses and desired Steemit usernames if ever they will sign up. This is for me to be able to send them follow up emails. So far, only one replied and with no assurance yet of signing up. He just said that he will check out the site.
                                                      PhotoGrid_1503708059286.jpg

I also took some photos of them but I feel that it will be better to share those here when they signed up already and made their introductory post. I really hope that they will sign up. :D

How to Withdraw Your PayPal Money to a GCash Mastercard Within Minutes!

I have been using PayPal for nine years and I have experienced withdrawing my funds through transferring it to bank accounts. I usually get/receive my funds into my card two to three days after requesting for transfer. Most of banks would charge 150 pesos until I discovered Eon Union bank which does not have a fee for PayPal to Eon transaction, just a yearly fee of 350 pesos and the card should be renewed every 5 years.
When I attended the PayPal Freelancer Community Summit Held at Manila Peninsula Hotel yesterday, I was glad to hear that GCash collaborated with PayPal for easier and faster transactions with zero fee. That was really a good news for PayPal Filipino users especially for freelancers who receive their regular payments in PayPal.

Advantages of Using GCash for PayPal Payouts
  • No need to apply for a bank account that requires various requirements.
  • Receive funds into your GCash mastercard within minutes.
  • Be able to withdraw on various ATM's in the Philippines.
  • No maintaining balance and no annual fees. But take note of their dormancy card policy in which there will be a charge of 50 pesos per month after the card was considered dormant, which is 6 months of no use/transaction.
                                      PhotoGrid_1503621948222.jpg

How to Get a GCash Mastercard
  • Go to a Globe center or booth and fill up a form just like in the photo below.

                                PhotoGrid_1503624127778.jpg

  • You should be applying personally cause a Globe representative will take a photo of you for their documentation/validation process.
How to Link Your Matercard to GCash
  • Register to GCash by texting REG space desired 4-digit PIN/mother's maiden name (middle name)/first name/last name/complete address
  • Link your card by dialing *143# then choose GCash, choose activate GCash card, then enter your 4-digit PIN and card details.
(Very important to remember your PIN for transactions, in case you forgot it, you can call 2882with your globe sim for free.)
NOTE: You can simply ask the globe representative/customer service to help you link it to GCash and activate your card. :D

How to Transfer Funds from PayPal to GCash
  • Download the GCash application through Google Play or Apple Store.
  • Register and verify your Gcash account. (Log in to the GCash app using your Globe phone number and PIN for password.)
  • Link your PayPal Account: Go to your My Account then select PayPal and follow the instruction prompted.
  • Select cash-in then Select PayPal to GCash.
How to Make Sure That You Successfully Linked Your PayPal to your Gcash

PayPal Freelancer Community Summit Held at Manila Peninsula Hotel, Philippines

I attended the PayPal freelancer community summit happened just few hours earlier. The registration started at 1PM and the program started at 2PM. It was held in The Manila Peninsula hotel located in Makati CIty, Philippines.

PhotoGrid_1503579206191.jpg
While waiting for my turn in the registration line, I took some photos and made myself busy on looking around the inside structures of the hotel.

Below are some photos I took while waiting in the line.

PhotoGrid_1503579124179.jpg

PhotoGrid_1503579276869.jpg

When the program started. The first speaker was the general manager of PayPal for Southeast Asian countries. He discussed the advantages of using PayPal such as security of payment and funds, and being globally trusted by lots of businesses. He also mentioned that PayPal partnered with G-cash for Filipinos to be able to get hold of their funds quickly to almost instantly. It is just through downloading the Gcash application, registering and verifying the Gcash account and then linking it to your PayPal account.

PhotoGrid_1503579366280.jpg

It was mentioned that this is the very first PayPal Freelancer Community Summit ever held and they chose Philippines for it. It was because of the very large amount of freelance service providers here in the Philippines and it is still growing as more and more are being aware of the online jobs available and the possibility of really earning from it. Even those who works in the corporate, they still have side lines or part times doing freelancer jobs online.

Below is a photo showing the number of freelancer service providers in the Philippines.

PhotoGrid_1503579390680.jpg

I wonder how many of those freelancers are also here on Steemit or aware of this site. :)
Another speaker discussed about the PayPal freelancer community program which include series of seminars for the Filipino freelancers starting this September. Some goals of these seminars are to make freelancers avoid being isolated for working at home alone, to learn new techniques on how to improve freelancing skills and, to make the community bigger and closer.

PhotoGrid_1503579336950.jpg

There were other four speakers in this event. All of them are Filipino freelancers who were able to gain success on working online for years. They shared their experiences, struggles and successes on their online freelancing world journey. They have given valuable tips and ideas such as having an emergency funds since freelancing income is considered as unstable and having realistic goals when starting your journey online. The importance of networking or reaching more people was also emphasized as it can lead you to your success.

PhotoGrid_1503582443638.jpg
After the discussion, there were foods served in a buffet style. I
t was also the time for communicating and getting to know some other fellow freelancers. As expected, the question of what work do you have/do online was asked to me and then I had the idea of discussing Steemit. Glad that I did cause they were excited to know more about the site as I told them that it was a blogging/writing flat form and that you can earn from it (will discuss more about our conversation on my next post :D). Gathering like this could really make you feel comfortable discussing Steemit cause they already have backgrounds of the online earning sites and they are open to opportunities. :)

We also have a loot bag from PayPal which includes a notebook, pen and a Gcash mastercard which was activated in the event as well.

Implications: Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong

Plastic surgery is an option for those who want to improve their appearances and can afford to undergo in these procedures. But there are possible risks involved in this medical procedure. Both women and men nowadays are increasingly opting to have this kind of surgery to have the look they desire. Specially now that it is cheaper compared before and there are already lots of plastic surgeons. It is even becoming a trend on some countries or places.

surgery.jpg

It includes various procedures just like face lift, liposuction, breast augmentation, lip augmentation, buttock augmentation and rhinoplasty.

Face lift - Procedure that will lessen the visible lines and sagging of the skin in the face and the neck.
Liposuction - Procedure that will remove unwanted fats on certain areas of the body to make it slimmer or reshaped.
Breast augmentation - Procedure that will make the breast size bigger or enhanced with the use of breast implants or fats.
Lip augmentation - Procedure that will make the lips enhanced or fuller with the use of lip fillers.
Buttock augmentation - Procedure that will enhance the shape and volume of the buttocks with the use of implants.
Rhinoplasty - Procedure that will correct and enhance the nose figure which is also called as a nose job.

When a plastic surgery gone wrong, it can cause bad results or implications.
gone wrong.jpg

Some common implications include wound separation, abscesses or fluid collections, infection, blood loss and blood clots. These problems can be treated if recognized early but these can be more serious too if it will not given an immediate attention. More serious implications include paralysis, permanent pain, damaged nerves, severe scarring and even death. If the implications are visible just like in a facial surgery, it can result deformed or weird look. It can also cause psychological disorders since it can be a traumatic or embarrassing experience.

Better to choose trusted hospitals or surgeons for this kind of operations if you are already decided to have a plastic surgery. Better to also think if it will be necessary or not. Too much of everything can lead to bad effects and that is really true when it comes to plastic surgery. We can see famous personalities or celebrities with obvious proofs of when a plastic surgery gone so wrong.

National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help: Knowing More About the Baclaran Church

                                          PhotoGrid_1503402693599.jpg
The National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpectual Help is located along Roxas Boulevard in Baclaran, Parañaque City, southern part of Metro Manila. It also known as the Redemptorist Church and commonly known as the Baclaran Church.

Baclaran church enshrines the icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. I took the photo of the icon below which was located at the candle lightning room. Another icon was also located at the very center of the Altar.

                                                     PhotoGrid_1503403561660.jpg
The devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help is popular among the Filipino Catholics. Devotees go to the church every Wednesday to attend the Mass and pray the Novena prayer to Our Mother of Perpetual Help. Believing that prayers will be most likely to be granted if you constantly attend the Wednesday Novena prayers. Which makes Wednesdays as popularly called as the "Baclaran Day" due to the large amount of people visiting the shrine that can cause road congestion.
The original icon placed above the main altar of the church came from Germany, and passed through Ireland and Australia before priests of the Redemptorist Order brought it to what was then the United States territory of the Philippine Islands in 1906. It bears the Papal arms in the back paneling. Since the Feast of the Immaculate Conception 1958, the shrine has been authorized by the Holy See to remain open 24 hours a day throughout the entire year. The shrine itself was blessed by Pope John Paul II during his first Apostolic Visit to Metro Manila in 1981. The shrine complex serves as the headquarters of the Manila Vice Province of Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, while the Cebu Province of the Redemptorists is headquartered in Cebu. The modern, Romanesque Revival building has a full seating capacity of 2,000, but as many as 11,000 people (including standing) can fit inside during Masses. An estimated 120,000 devotees are currently affiliated with the Shrine. Source
The National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help church is generally not hard to find cause it is very popular so, you can easily ask someone of its location. There are lots of vendors around the vicinity as Baclaran is also known for its bargains.

I took several photos of the church already and I think the night shots make the church more magnificent with the effects of lights and solemnity of the night.

                                                PhotoGrid_1503100926767.jpg
Dakilang Lumikha: Diyos Ama

Ikaw ba'y may nakikita aking kaibigan?
Magandang tanawin at kapaligiran
May namamasdan kahit sa kalawakan
Na nagpapatunay na ang Diyos ay makapangyarihan
Lahat ng ito ay Kanyang ginawa
Maging ating sarili at iba pang kapwa
At tinatanggap mabubuti Mong turo
Ikaw ang nagsilbing Ama naming totoo
Inaalagaan Mo at minahal itong yaring mundo.

Pamahiin ng Mga Pilipino: Superstitions of Filipinos

Filipinos have superstitions that were inherited from ancestors. Some of these were still valued until today or given attention to even there are modern changes. Those who believe on it can often said that better to believe since there is nothing to lose, because there is something to lose if those superstitions are true and you do not mind it.

The following are examples of FIlipino superstitions

(Photo featuring our beloved Maw the black cat :))

Tula Tungkol Sa Pagmamahal

                                                     PhotoGrid_1503101067897.jpg

Pagmamahal: Pag-ibig

Pag-ibig mo na nais ipukol kaninuman
Matatawag na pagmamahal na pinahahalagahan
Ialay, ibigay at panghawakan
At huwag na sanang pakawalan kahit kailanman
Ngunit pag-big sa ating sarili
Ang tunay na mahalaga at walang ipagsisisi
Ngunit ibang tao sa puso'y pwedeng isali
Na iyong iniingatan at itinatangi
Pagmamahal ay nararapat iukol sa magulang
Sa puso'y dapat sa kanila'y may puwang
Iyong pinupuri at iginagalang

                                                    integridad (1).jpg

Integridad

Ating kinabukasan kailangang pangalagaan

                                              katapangan.jpg
Katapangan

Katapanga'y mahalaga sa atin ng lubha
Isabuhay sa gawa, hindi lang sa salita
Dito makikita tunay na magagawa
Para sa kapakinabangan ng ating kapwa
Tunay na kailangan, dapat pangalagaan
At pang-aalipin ay maiiwasan
Kalayaan ay makukuha at mararanasan
Basta't katapanga'y paiiralin sa isipan
Mga bayaning katapanga'y taglay
Nagawang lumaban kahit nahihimlay
Ngayon nasa puso't isipan natin sila

Majayjay Falls In Laguna, Philippines

Majayjay falls, beautiful falls located inside a Tropical Rainforest. Makes it more enchanting for the tourist for both locals and overseas.

Its have been years ago already but it was so memorable and I can still remember every details of it. It was our yearly elementary classmates reunion and we make sure that it will be an exciting tour for us. Although it was just the three of us (with my two close elementary friends as others were too busy to come that time). It was very memorable since it was our first time to experienced camping in the rainforest. My first time to experience camping ever.

It took us more than five hours drive from the city to reach a rural area in Laguna where Mount Banahaw was located. It was because we almost got lost and so, I think we took the long cut instead of the short cut. At least we were able to reached our destination and did not gave up. :D
Mount Banahaw was known as a mystical forest and it was the source of very clear and cold water of the falls. At the foot of that beautiful Mountain lies the midst of rainforest where very beautiful falls called Majayjay can be seen. The water from the falls was so refreshing as it was so cold and we need to adopt to that temperature to be able to enjoy our swimming time in there. It was like swimming in an iced water but once your body gets used to it, you will love it. You can place your drinks in the water to cool it.

And we know that we need to observe responsible tourism in a rainforest to keep the beauty of the place and maintain the cleanliness of the falls. Specially that there are lots of tourists visiting the rainforest and the businesses of the locals there depend their income from those tourists coming.
Some ways how we follow responsible tourism in a rainforest were making sure that we put our garbage on the proper bins and never throw anything on the falls. When we set our tent, we make sure that we placed it on the designated area so that we would not destroy any small plants or affect any creatures on the rainforest. We also make sure to clean our place when we packed up already to ensure that no thrash will be left by us. We can really be responsible tourists and be able to preserved the beauty of rainforest for others to enjoy it too.

Our tent below where we stayed overnight. As a rainforest, we expected rains at night so, we brought blankets but we can still felt the coldness of the place and the night. :)

P.S. Sorry for the low quality photos, did not have a good camera phone that time. :)

Santo Rosario de Pasig Church, Philippines

Yesterday was a busy day for me. After I went to the veterinary clinic for the abscessed incision of our spayed cat which I felt glad that it went all fine, I visited my grandmother as well as my grandfather in the cemetery. Yesterday was the 10th year death anniversary of my grandmother. Missing her a lot and still it pained me remembering the day she was gone in my life. I grew up with my grandmother and will always be grateful for taking care of me.

After that, I went to the Santo Rosario de Pasig Church mainly to pray for her soul and all other things. Based in Wikipedia, The Santo Rosario de Pasig Church, formerly Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish, is a Roman Catholic church in Pasig, Philippines. The jurisdiction of the parish is as follows: Santolan (North), Marikina River (West), Maybunga San Miguel (South), Cainta, Rizal (East). The church enshrines the 19th century Virgin Mary, said to be different among others, for she has a moon underneath her feet. The parish is one of the three other parishes in the Diocese of Pasig that has been granted the special papal blessing to mark its Jubilee Year in connection with its 50th anniversary.

Then I remembered to took some photos of the church and what's on the church. I started taking photos of the churches that I have visited recently and it was a nice way of having remembrance or documenting the places that I have traveled/visited. I have posted some blogs about it on Steemit already like on these links.
