Safety Tips to Avoid Fire Incidents After An Earthquake

It was in the news that there were recent earthquakes all over the world. In the Philippines, there were recent earthquakes reports and it started to be alarming because it seems to be becoming more frequent.

I personally felt one recently which I am thankful that it was not that strong and did not really affected us but that was mostly because the center of the earthquake was far from our location. When I was in grade school, I experienced an earthquake that lasted for few seconds and it was an unforgettable experience. I remembered that I got shocked and was not able to move when it happened. Good thing that it shook us but no damage was made.

I have experienced some earthquake drills during my high school years. It taught us the importance of presence of mind and being prepared. Also the importance of knowing where is the safest place to be and where are the exits.

Just recently, there were several earthquake drills here already. It is since they have been projecting a "big one" which no one is aware when exactly it will hit and exactly where. There were marks on the roads for the fault lines to make people more aware of it. Several news about it on how damaging it can be especially when it hits the city full of infrastructures and people.

People should be ready on what could be the effects of the earthquake and how to be in a most safety situation when it hits.

Since electricity is widely used especially in a congested urban place, and a lot of electrical appliances are present in every home; also there are companies or places so prone with lots of explosive chemicals and materials, it is more likely to have fire incidents after an earthquake and the after shocks. We should also be prepared for such kind of incidents.

There are some tips to avoid possible fire incidents. Some examples are turning off main electrical source as soon as possible during (if possible) or after an earthquake or the safest timing for you (always make sure of your safety first and your loved ones especially while earthquake is happening before anything else of course). This is also for stronger shakes that could really damage electrical fixtures and connection. And do not turn it on until you are so sure enough that it was already safe to do so. Better to know the situation through observing and listening to news whether through a battery operated radio or your cellphones. That is why it is also important to always have fully charged batteries for emergency purposes.

Another tip is placing hazardous and combustive chemicals in tightly covered containers and keep it in a secured places so that it will not spill out. Better to place those in lower part of the house than in cabinets on higher location. Make it a habit too to close your gas tanks or LPG after every use or when not in use so that it will not be left open when an earthquake occur. Like in the photo below, I make sure that containers are sealed and it will be placed in a lower cabinet where it will be less likely to spill when an earthquake hit. We also have an electrical safety box that is placed securely in a cemented wall. Fire extinguishers are important to have as well

 

No one could exactly tell when and where an earthquake will happen yet despite the modern technologies available. Therefore doing these safety precautions could really be a life saver in the future. Better be prepared than sorry.

Lanzones: Delicious And Healthy Fruit

Describing my Favorite Fruit.

Most people will definitely love to eat fruits, not only because it is delicious and can ease hunger, but because of the healthy benefits of eating different types of fruits. As of for me, the fruit that I am always fond of eating is my all time favorite lanzones.

Even when I was a child, I used to eat lanzones on cinemas instead of pop corns or junk foods specially if we can see a lanzones vendor just near the cinema vicinity. Although some would not like it because there is a bitter sap on the fruit that you will definitely taste when you will taste your lips while eating and after eating the fruit. That is to me does not matter for I really like eating it. The sad thing or fact for lanzones lover like me is that the fruit is not so available the whole year. It is a seasonal fruit, usually from July to November you can see a lot of these fruit on any market and in much lower price compared to the months that there is so little production of the fruit.

In the Philippines, it is commonly cultivated in Laguna areas and in some part of Mindanao. Camiquin's one pride is their sweetest and most delicious lanzones that they even have a fiesta for it once a year. The fruit is colored light yellow and the meat is white to opaque white color. It can tastes so sweet depends on the variety of the tree or if its ripened enough. Some of these fruit are also taste sour and the seed tastes bitter when bitten.

Lanzones are said to be rich with different types of nutritional contents like protein, phosphorus, calcium, vitamin A, fiber, thiamine, vitamin C and anti-oxidants substances. It is also said that it is good to prevent diarrhea and some gastro intestinal diseases specially if consumed in a daily basis.

A Way to Motivate.

People needs motivation in all aspects of life to be a better and a changed person. A motivation can also be considered as an inspiration to pursue or to finish a goal and a plan. Motivating the person can give him inner peace of mind to finally know exactly what he will do as it is detailed. Believe that abundance and development can be achieved.

Motivation is a way of encouraging people to believe in their own skills and strength that they can manage to do a certain activity or all the activities. It is somewhat conditioning of the mind that nothing is impossible to those who are willing to give their best foot forward for it.

Spam Emails From Facebook

Be Aware.

Social networking sites are too famous nowadays that it become part of one's everyday life. Facebook is seems to be known by everyone on earth. Personally, I have my Facebook account and I am using it to get connected with my friends and some business matter.

A spam email is seems to be an old problem ever since emails are created and so it evolves as the online world does. So spam emails pretending to be coming from Facebook is so alarming that it can really fool an user. Their modus is to send messages saying your Facebook account is hacked or used by someone and so they had changed your password for security and it is attached to their message. Which is the fact that their attachment can bear virus or hacking software device so better be careful. When i searched for Facebook help options, it is stated there that they will never ever send messages that will enclose your password or new password and do not attempt to open any attachments to avoid getting hacked or avoiding the virus that can be enclosed to it.

Dalandan is a citrus fruit that can be found all over the Philippines. It is also known as sour orange which is similar to other citrus fruits. The appearance of the fruit is round and it is usually colored green.

Newest Member of Our Family: Tamtam the Puppy

We have a new member in the family. We called him Tamtam because we just like the sound of it. :P
Someone gave the puppy to us and was brought home last night, July 15.


She keeps moving around that is why hard to capture a good still photo of her. :D
She is very sweet although she was still bit shaking maybe because she was just new to the people around and the place. Tamtam was introduced to our dog Winnie and nice to see that they like each other and even play together already.

Fruits have many uses for human aside from being a natural healthy food. Avocado is that kind of fruit.

Avocado usually grows in tropical and sub-tropical countries like the different countries in Asia. There are benefits of avocado that people are enjoying throughout the years. The fruit was small and has a dark colored skin that contains large seed inside. The word avocado was first indexed in 1696 included in Jamaican plants category. The fruit was first known as a fertility fruit by the Aztecs. Also in some other South American countries, it is called la manzana del invierno which means the apple of the winter in English language.

Avocado is an important crop item in the agricultural field. It is classified as a flowering plant and its fruit is also known as a large berry that contains large seed. The shape of the fruit is usually spherical or egg-shaped. Avocado fruits are commercially available and valuable around the world. Some avocados are greened skinned and has pear shape that can be ripened after harvesting. A ripened avocado yields to pressure held in the hand and squeezed. The flesh part gets easily prone to browning specially when exposed to air. In order to prevent this enzymatic browning, lemon or lime juice can be added just after it is peeled. Avocado contains a higher fat compared to most of the known fruits . The fat is called monounsaturated fat that makes the fruit as a staple food in the diet of some various groups like the vegans. Introducing Our Dog Winnie

I have been posting lots of our cat photos online. Today, I would like to introduce our dog, Winnie! :D

Winnie the Dog.

She was a stray dog near our area and we decided to adopt her after our dog Queenie died last February 28, 2017. Winnie was brought home in March 16 after making sure that nobody owned her and we guessed that she was probably 2-3 months old that time.
Below is the very first photo of Winnie when she was brought home. She had skin issues and wounds on the legs. (I do not have a good camera phone that time :P)

She was very tired and literally just eat and sleep for more or less a week. She also do not roam around yet and just stay near where she was fed and was so attached with the mat given to her as her bed. Days later, she started to roam around and play. She also becomes quite picky on her foods unlike before that she will just eat any foods that you gave her. :P

Animal Lover.

There are lots of people having their own favorite pet and we tend to be very loving to animals. This is because animals can give benefits in our lives although sometimes we are not aware of it, cause we just feel it. Pet animals become part of our everyday life and we make them as our very close friends or best friends or a family member. In return, they make us their best friends or family too.

They no doubt give us happiness being a loyal and friendly companion. Our pets can also show us how important we are in their lives. Our pets can also show us how important we our in their lives. They tend to be very loving and passionate to us by making us feel their happiness being with us. They do help us release fatigue and stress in our hard times and makes us feel more relaxed with their cute appearances. They are always there waiting for our love and care.

Dogs and cats are the most popular pets but it seems almost all kinds of animals are made pets by different animal lover. All of them needs special attention and care, and of course love.

There are also some exotic pets which can also provide all these benefits to its owners since we have different preference. Although some need less attention or care compared to the usual pets.

Loving Chocolates!

Chocolate is healthy specially on its pure form. It is because chocolate comes or made from plants that gives us a lot of benefits. Based on some researches being written, chocolates can act as antioxidants that protects us from free  radicals that causes aging. So no doubt that eating chocolates can make us more relax and at ease. This is why more are eating chocolates when they get bored, stressed or somewhat tensed. It also helps in balancing some hormones in the body that makes man more healthy.

Personally, chocolates are my comfort foods. It makes me feel more relaxed and it can put a smile in my face. It can also give me some energy and alertness specially if I need to be awake for longer hours. If I need to solve my hunger immediately, a bar of chocolate can solve it easily. :D

A Street in Divisoria, Philippines

I have been to Divisoria several times since there are lots of stuffs there that you can buy in affordable prices. You can even ask for a discount and you will have lots of choices. There are various malls in there that are just near with each other aside from the lots of vendors in the streets offering almost everything you will need or want to buy.

One time I got lost looking around and discovered a street there with night lanterns and food stalls.  So I took some photos cause it was really a nice scene and good subject to take some shots. Below are the two photos from that beautiful street. :D

Love seems to be always on air, always ready to spread. As most of people would say, no one can live without it, for love makes the world round. Some would also say that if you want to love, be ready to get hurt for it is already part of being in love. But what if there is an advantage from being in love? It would definitely a good news for those who are in love, those who want to feel the love and be loved, and to those who are always in love. :D

When in love, people tend to become conscious about his or her physical appearance. They will want to be more attractive and fit for their loved ones. They would want to look the best specially for the eyes of their loved ones. And because of the wanting to look sexy, in love people would probably have a diet to loosen weight or regularly go to the gym to build a lean muscle. It can make lovers to be more determined to eliminate that excessive fats and eat a more fiber rich foods. It is also stated that love can make you lose the appetite to eat due to chemicals released when we fell in love. It is the reason why we seems to be more likely to think about that special someone rather than go to the table and eat the dinner. There are also in love persons that are not having an appetite to eat until he had talk with his love or receive even a text message saying hi.

It is surely true that being in love is a good feeling and a wonderful experience. It is more true that feeling good and looking good is much possible if we are in love ( it might not be true for everyone). :P

What was the first word/s that comes out of your mind when you first read or know about steemit? Me, honesty it was Steam! :D

Most probably because it was my first time to encounter the word steem and even I known cryptocurrencies for 2 years more or less, I did not read something about steem coins.
After being in Steemit site for a week, I have learned about the whale, minnows and other terms. So, just had a thought of making the art stuff with the whale as representation of success.

 I am definitely not a graphic artist obviously and just use the free images available online found on clker site. Forgive my red fish drawing though, that's the best I can do after 30 minutes of trying to make that look better and gave up. :P

A collection's value is based on it’s uniqueness, age and historical involvement. It is because each collector is unique on how they keep and maintain their collections as well. Some will just be active for now and then neglecting it after. But there are some who value their “precious” from the moment they realize its value until they experience Alzheimer. Maybe some would not appreciate other collections because it may not be a valuable thing to collect, but it is always the value of appreciation that counts most. The are also boards or groups of experts that can gave the monetary value of a collection, but there will be a different kind of "value" for collectors for his collection.

Examples of a collection are postal stamps and coins. Coin and stamp collecting are as old as you can ever imagine, and it is timeless. Also collecting is made easier now through the use of the online world.

Why There Are Lots Of Scam Sites?

*Written this blog post back in 2012, my pen name that time was SOC. I remember I wrote this because I have encountered lots of scam sites before that made me almost give up in being an online freelancer. Reading this now, it sounded more of a rant than a realization. :D:D :D

Scam sites as they earned money from scamming people.

When entering the world of online business and wanting to become an online worker, better be aware that not all that are mentioned in a certain site is real. There are lots of information there that are just made up to fool and scam people for their own benefits. This is the common mistake of beginners aspiring to earn bucks through online works or jobs. They tend to believe those sites that has a dollar per click in their ads and having a payout of $10000 or more, this had happened to me!
I never thought before that these are scams, why? It is because they have so many members there, they have people referring for them and they have these faked payout proofs. Most of all why I believed them is that, they do exist online for years! How they had managed to stay that long online scamming people????? As I go on on my online adventure, I had learned that they are just too good to be true. And the lower the amount value offer by a site per click or per sign up, the more legit it can possibly be. So I start wondering how this site owners just get away from it. It was really frustrating to put and exert effort in a site for months or even for a year just to find out that it was all for nothing, just to benefit the scammer online.

I had learned to search about the forums available, the ones that can be used to help others be aware of what sites are paying and what sites are scam. It is worth saving others to lose dollars in the internet and so to help also yourself from engaging again to it. It is by reading and sharing that can make online workers more defensive against scam sites. And although there are sites that investigate certain sites in order to test its being legit,Ii think there should be a site or group of online peeps that can get after those selfish site owners (if there is already a group like that, I am not aware) and let them be punished for scamming cause it involves maybe thousands of dollars or even a million. So sad that these figures also reflects the thousand people that had been scammed.

I was not able to take an outside shot of the Binondo church as I usually just took inside photos. Next time I will try to take outside shots of churches that I will visit, since it will be a good way of practicing my shooting skills (using my cellphone camera :D).
